Compassion is at the forefront of Stacy Wright's care.
One patient had recently been given a cancer diagnosis. This diagnosis was likely to be terminal and was to be his second fight with the disease. The patient was calm and acting normally the entire day following his diagnosis. The day nurse asked if he wanted to talk or wanted clergy, but he went on about life as if nothing happened. Stacy was his nurse that night. She got report and went to his room first. She walked out with tear filled eyes after her assessment. She went to the supply room, got a box of tissues, and went back into the patient's room to talk to him more about what was going on. She kept her composure and was very professional, but was very genuine in her concern for this patient. She lent a listening ear and a box of tissues and assured the patient that she was "here all night if you need me for anything". The pain was evident in her eyes.

A patient was admitted who was a known drug user and prostitute. Stacy was giving report to the oncoming shift, and stated the facts on the patient (including her lifestyle choices) and then added "I just hope that people see her for a human being that deserves care and compassion and not just judge her for her decisions. We don't know why she made these decisions".

Stacy always looks at the big picture and takes emotional needs into consideration when giving care. Stacy is a top of the line nurse, and should be recognized for her dedication and hard work.
