She was a cheerful, hardworking, very hands on, funny, responding quickly to our needs, answered all our questions (or found answers for us), positive attitude. WONDERFUL!! She made the patient's day turn out to be the very best it could be for the situation.

She joked around (appropriately), made the patient smile, made the patient feel like she was her biggest cheerleader and advocate.

Anything she did, especially starting a new IV which is extremely stressful for the patient, she told us every step, she tried to minimize the pain in every way possible but never denied that it would hurt. She explained the different types of pain ie; incisional vs. muscle spasms. She explained the medications and how they worked.

The patient was vomiting and felt bad her first time out of bed. Stacy held the pan for her to be sick and soothed her. Then helped make the patient feel better by helping wash her hair and face and helping brush her teeth and changing her bed and really making a bad and awkward situation better for this 13 year old.

She helped us form questions for the doctors. She gave helpful hints on what to expect each day in the hospital and when we went home. She encouraged parental participation and never made us feel in the way or out of place.

...

Stacy has made a point to make sure we are priority in every aspect of our stay. Stacy is the best nurse we have ever had in all of our hospital stays. Stacy made it so easy to see her as a nurse and part of our family. She was our nurse for some of our hardest moments and made them that much easier to endure. Stacy was more educated in her field than our doctors at other hospitals. She had the right answer to every question we had with no assistance. Immediately following surgery, we had a highly uncomfortable 4 month old and Stacy made it so easy for us to know she was in the best care possible! She eased all worries.

Stacy made it her priority to ask, tell, remind and educate us in every aspect of our stay and process.
