From day one, Sherri has really stood out to me as someone who goes above and beyond. She worked hard to educate me and keep me involved in my daughter's care and is constantly focused on not only my daughter's needs but mine, my husband and my 2 year old as well. The first time my son came to visit was very stressful for me because he is only 2 and very stimulated in new situations. Sherri immediately went and got him some toys and a blanket to play with to help make him smile and create a better situation. She is very knowledgable and cares so much about her patients.

Recently I was allowed to do care by parent for a couple of days in order to feed my baby (3lbs 3oz) around the clock and possibly get to go home. The day nurse had fortified milk for the night so it would be ready. We tried to feed her a bottle and all of a sudden my daughter would not eat it. She was crying and arching and pulling away and even spitting it out. After trying for a while I got the night nurse to come in and observe and even try to feed her. Same result. My baby didn't take very much and would not eat through the night. She had never done this before. I felt defeated and sad because she lost 11 g that night and I just knew she would not go home and would have to stay in the hospital. Thankfully, when Sherri came in that morning and I explained what happened she immediately asked if I smelled the milk. Turns out the lipase turned my milk bad when they thawed it and that is why my baby would not take it. Had it not been for Sherri, I would not be going home today, 2 days later.
