The Radiology department provides care to a large number of patients all with different diagnoses. Our nurses provide conscious sedation to patients undergoing procedures such as chemo embolization, y90 treatment, central venous access device placement, angiograms, biopsies and many others.
Shelly Boast is an excellent patient advocate and a role model to all our nursing staff. During patient roundings, both patients and their families appreciate the excellent care they receive from Shelly. She is extremely knowledgeable and has very well-rounded nursing skills. She always makes sure the patient is safe and their family members are well informed of the care plan. Our nursing staff recognizes her ability to be an excellent resource and preceptor. Shelly listens and communicates effectively. She is often described as “knowledgeable, hard working, even tempered, enthusiastic, level-headed and very kind hearted. We feel she is an extraordinary nurse, and very deserving of the DAISY Award.
