Speaking for myself, my father who was hospitalized and the rest of my family- Shawna was an outstanding nurse. She always kept us informed of what was going on and had such a wonderful personality that comforted all of us, most importantly my dad who was admitted. My father was rushed from the ER in Valley City as we believed he has a stroke. We were all very upset and anxious as test after test came up negative and we couldn't determine what was wrong. We went home late that night still wondering what was happening.
When we arrived at the hospital in the morning, Shawna was taking care of my dad and immediately updated us on everything that was going on and what had been determined. My dad is very uncomfortable in the hospital and Shawna went out of her way to make him feel comfortable and relaxed. They were both laughing together and had my dad and all of us smiling and feeling comforted once it was determined what the diagnosis was. She did all the research she could find to provide us all the knowledge we needed to understand and feel reassured. My dad said that Shawna changed an experience that was scary and stressful to be comforting and reassuring. Shawna truly is an outstanding nurse who really understands per patients, their families, and their needs. She truly made a huge difference for my dad and for all of us. We are all extremely grateful for her going above and beyond to help us and above all help our father. We all deeply hope she receives this recognition for her dedication and kindness she showed us all.
