Being a first-time mother, I had no idea what to expect. After a very long labor and eventually a C-section, I was exhausted physically and emotionally. Sharon came into my room with the most positive and caring attitude. She never made me feel silly with all my questions, and when I needed something she was so prompt to support me.
The thing that stands out for me the most is she took the time to stop, look me in the eyes and truly listen. When she saw my confidence waiver, she gave her support with knowledgeable tips and her time.
As her last shift ended, she gave me a pep talk and a laundry list of tips, which as a first-time mom I was anxious to hear. Sharon would often joke about how long she had been a nurse and she had seen it all - so don't be afraid to ask.
More important than her experience, was that she truly cared. You could see it with her quick responses, gentle touch, and constant support during my most vulnerable days. Thank you, Sharon, for providing R and me with the most compassionate care. Meeting you was one of the best parts of my labor story at Sanford. Wishing you the best!
