After a long road of fertility treatments and high-risk pregnancy, I was in labor and delivery and had just lost my son at 21 weeks gestation. I was heartbroken and scared and everything in between when Sharon came in and said "it's all going to be okay, I'm going to be with you the whole time" She really meant it! She was right there holding my hand when I woke up in recovery and never really left me the entire day. She sat with me and cried with me, and carried me through the worst day of my life. I could not have gotten through that day without her. Not only did she take care of everything I needed medically, she helped me hold myself together when I could not. During my recent pregnancy, I had failed a non-stress test at my doctors' office and was sent to Labor and Delivery to take it again. By the time I got to the hospital, I was hysterical, sure that something was going wrong. I walked into Labor and Delivery and much to my relief, there was Sharon. She hugged me and said, "it will be fine, don't worry". Everything was fine and I anxiously awaited my delivery. When I arrived on the day of delivery, I was really anxious and worried. Sharon came in and cared for me. She prepped me for the surgery, helped me pull it together and be at ease and excited to meet our new baby boy. She was with me the whole time.
Sharon carried me through the worst day of my life, holding me together when I could not do it for myself. Her care, support, compassion, and humor made a world of difference for me, far more than she will ever know. I'm so grateful and fortunate to have had Sharon there with me again on one of the best days too. There just isn't a way for me to thank Sharon enough for all that she has done for me and my family. I will always count her as a true blessing.
