This nurse went above and beyond. She cares so much about the patient's comfort. She answers questions for the family and makes you feel so much better when things are not so hopeful. I think the one thing (if I have to say only one) that was impressive was that instead of turning on the lights, she wore a headlamp! I thought that was so kind.
Thank you so much, Sharma. Sharma was his nurse two nights in a row. Then the last night that my daddy's heart beat, she had shifted down a bit and he had another nurse. But Sharma was available when he needed something, and his nurse and tech for the night were in another room. She was very happy to help her teammates. When she saw my daddy, she was floored at how good he looked. He had gotten dressed! That was the joke of the day. She came in a couple of times just to check on us and marveled about his progress. I think Daddy, my aunt and myself all really connected with her. She was so special. Before she left, she popped back in the room and told him that she was going to be off for a couple of nights and expected him to keep making progress and hopefully be getting the procedure that he had been waiting for. Not too long after that, he had eaten all of his breakfast. He said it was so he could get better. Then, he needed to use the potty. I called a nurse, she had stepped out and another nurse went in to check on him, I heard them talking then the nurse opened the door and said, "I need a chart and a cart" … and then the code blue announcement. Then it was over, that quick.
I had hoped to be able to talk with Sharma again and tell her how much we appreciated her. Thank you, I will never forget the kindness and love and blessings you bestowed upon both my daddy and me.
