Shanon Gose, RN was nominated by a fellow employee for demonstrating “excellent clinical nursing skills”, exemplified by her consistent safe and quality patient care provided without any adverse incident. Shanon works in the Urgent Care providing nursing care and a variety of medical procedures for many patients with varied illness. She also fulfills the role of being a resource person for the nursing personnel, patient advocate, and educator for both the patients and nurses alike.
Shanon has been involved in the lives of two sisters who have been inflicted with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). She has been providing care and treatment for the past 17 years of the siblings’ lives. She continues to unselfishly contribute and making a great impact on the lives of the two individual girls (now 17 and 25 years old). She works closely with the parents and the two siblings to ensure their physical, mental and social well-being are optimally maintained as much as possible.
Today, 17 years later, Shanon continues to provide the siblings with infusion of intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) to help their bodies fight infection. On several occasions, some setbacks were experienced with either of the siblings, but, she always has been available to provide support and obtain information rendering reassurance for the parents. She has been their advocator for many years.
Shanon is to be commended and acknowledged for her unselfish and compassionate caring virtue.
