Sha'Neka Wright-Register was assigned to a patient who needed rabies shots. The patient arrived and was informed insurance would not cover the shot and she could not receive it. Sha'Neka spoke with the patient and explained she could be making a fatal choice, the patient was also pregnant. Sha'Neka called the insurance company and spent 40 minutes on the phone insisting that the shot was a medical necessity. Finally, the company approved the shot and the patient received it. The next week the patient came back for the next shot it was denied once again Sha'Neka called the company and convinced them to approve. For her patient, she would not take "No" for an answer.
