When we brought our 4 month old daughter to Children's in St. Paul, we were terrified. We didn't know what was happening to her and we didn't know what to expect from the hospital. We left our house at 4am to be to the hospital by the 9am check in time. We went up to the pediatric epilepsy ward, scared and tired and without knowing what to plan for or anticipate.

We were greeted immediately upon our arrival by _____ who showed us right to our room, went over the information again and again and again...several times...as we kept repeating our questions. He put us at ease almost instantly and explained everything to us until he knew we understood before he went on with anything else. He was patient with us and warmed to our daughter immediately. She liked him. We liked him.

Even when _____ was not assigned to us, he made certain that he checked in with us whenever he saw us. He was available to answer any questions we had whenever we had them and he always looked us in the face and smiled...something we all seem to take for granted.

We felt our daughter was safe in _____'s care and that alleviated several pounds of stress from our shoulders.

The entire Pediatric epilepsy staff was amazing!! So kind and gentle with both us and our daughter.

In a scary and unfamiliar situation, we could not have asked for better guides
