Sarah provided extraordinary care and compassion to a patient while in the ED. The patient was a victim of domestic violence. She not only provided excellent nursing care, but she created a comforting and peaceful experience for the patient by listening attentively, showing sympathy and taking extra time in explaining education and resources for the patient after discharge. She also advocated for the patient's safety after discharge by communicating to her family member signs and symptoms of what to look out for that would require her to seek immediate medication attention. The patient and her family members were very grateful.
