My husband and I were involved in a two-vehicle automobile accident in Arapahoe, NE on December 21, 2019. We were t-boned and I was on the passenger side that was hit. I received multiple fractures. I was transferred to Tri-Valley Health Systems first and from there to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE. After I was admitted to the ICU and surgery was performed on my lower right sacrum I meant a nurse who changed my whole life. If ever there is an angel of mercy it is Sarah Beeney, RN BSN. Sarah was one of my first nurses to care for me in the ICU. I was in a lot of pain with multiple fractures and had a lot of apprehension. Sarah is a hard-working employee. She puts her patients first and meets their every need. She has a calming effect when caring and she is very reassuring. She listens to your needs and visits with your family and includes them in the plan of care. When I transferred to the rehab unit from ICU Sarah came to visit my husband and me several times after her work hours to see how I was progressing with my care. My husband Jeff and I strongly feel Sarah goes over and beyond her duty as a nurse and is very deserving of the Daisy Award. She is a valuable asset to the CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital, we are very proud of Sarah. We know she will be a valuable nurse to all her patients in the future.
