One week my father was leading an active life and the next he was unable to move his legs and arms. Sandra was his primary care giver and she administered care to him and to me. She was on her feet relentlessly for days. She bathed him with gentle care. She totally managed an intensive event while my Dad struggled to maintain life. She provided information, made educated decisions and conducted constant communication. While extubating him she asked for a breakdown of events (kind of like a dress rehearsal) so everyone knew what to expect, and then she managed all of us while he passed, staying 3 hours past her shift. Incredible! Sandra did so much more than I was able to mention. She helped me so much as well as my father. She sent me home to rest. She also provided constructive advice to the doctors. So well done! We come from a larger area but the care at BMH was beyond our hospitals. Sandra was the BEST!
