I have been battling an unexplainable staph infection since the beginning of this year. This one could not be treated like the others with oral antibiotics. It was creating major edema going from the original site on my forehead to below my eyes. I knew I had to go to the hospital. I was admitted through the ER to 7 South General. This is where I met Samantha. She greeted me with a smile and was so kind and welcoming that I felt a sense of relief that I was going to be well taken care of.
She checked on me frequently. She got answers to my questions regarding medications and other treatments and honored all my requests for personal items in such a timely fashion. I shared with her information from two of the medical consultants and she helped clarify for me the actual "take away message" from them by immediately reading their medical documentation on her mobile computer. She endlessly came every time I accidentally pulled my IV out and set off the alarm. I was expecting a little frustration from her about the 4th or 5th time of re-setting the IV pump but she was never phased. She pleasantly reset the pump like every time was the first time.
