I was a patient at Rumford Hospital for four weeks. I had a bad infection in my leg. After going home, I needed to have dressing changes twice a week, which required I go to the Hospital for an additional five months. Sally was there as my nurse from the very beginning until the end. She was very caring and understanding. I loved her to death. I knew I would miss her but I am glad to be home and to be healed. Sally is a dedicated nurse and a big help to the Doctor who took care of me.

...

I was called to the Med Surg unit to start an IV on a patient who was here with a wound infection. The patient also had many mental health issues and was very anxious about me starting her IV. As I tried to coach her into relaxation, her mother stated "Remember that is what Sally told you to do". Obviously sally had formed a very therapeutic relationship with this patient and family. She always takes the time to treat the whole patient, not just a specific symptom or wound. She is a true role model for nurses and deserves the DAISY Award.

Thank you for being part of our lives, Sally, and for sharing your gift.
