Safia Boti has been a nurse for more than 25 years. Safia first received her Associates degree, 20 years later completed her Bachelors and in 2014, earned her MSN, NP. Safia was born in Pakistan. She worked four years as a Med/Surg nurse, four years as an OB nurse and three years in Morocco volunteering in villages as a midwife. After coming to the United States, she started as a student nurse and then worked on a bone marrow transplant unit for two years. While attending a seminar at Maimonides and observing the hospital's atmosphere, Safia decided she wanted to work here, and started on K3. K3 provided the perfect opportunity with PAMCU, cardiac telemetry and Med/Surg all on one unit. Along with having five children, Safia is also supporting both of her parents. She is the eldest of six siblings. When asked "What do you do in your spare time?" she replied, "Do I have some?"

One of the reasons Safia loves Maimonides is because of the diversity. Safia frequently volunteers at a senior center teaching healthy living, diet and stroke prevention. Her vision is to open an office and offer free services.

Congratulations Safia it's our privilege to honor you for the extraordinary and compassionate care you give every day.
