My daughter was found to have low factor 8 in her blood and since then she has been under the care of the haemophilia team. S is only 8 years old and she is a very shy, nervous little girl. She went into hospital for a day to trial a drug, this involved having an injection and a cannula in so she could have several blood tests. Rosy looked after her that day and was so caring from the first moment she met S. She explained everything to S in such a manner that made her feel at ease. She talked about school, what toys he likes and I could see S immediately trusted her. She brought S toys to take home and gave her special plasters and stickers. S's day went smoothly and stress free because of Rosy.
A couple of months later we found a large lump under S's arm. After MRI we were told that it was almost certainly a lipoma that had to be removed. S went into hospital and had surgery to remove the lump. Before the anesthetic, Rosy appeared and S was delighted, she was immediately put at ease. Rosy stayed with her during surgery and kept in contact with me throughout the whole procedure, letting me know it was going well. She then came to see S on the ward and again brought S a cuddly toy. She is genuinely a caring nurse, who cared for me as a parent too. She has done over and above what I expected.
