Rosily volunteered to learn the Charge Nurse role when her coworker became ill. Through this time period, she has blossomed and become very confident. She conducts patient rounds daily, and reports any pertinent feedback to leadership. She is always happy and smiling, open to listen and works well with all. Rosily has a good, trusting relationship with the doctors, and always does what is best for the patient. Recently there was an RRT in dialysis that needed an ICU bed; however, there were none available. When I asked Rosily to take the patient until we could provide an ICU bed, she agreed to accept without hesitation. She is highly skilled, and competent to care for the IMU and some ICU patients. Often times, during high census, she agrees to work extra to ensure safe staffing. She has also been known to take a full patient load while simultaneously charging, and attending stroke codes. Rosily has grown as a leader within the past year from managing the daily operations of our busy Neuroscience unit.
