I had taken a patient from 3 West down to CT to rule out an emergent P.E. The Patient's PICC was not going to work for the exam and I could not get a line in him for the test to be performed. I called multiple other departments and people to help me start a line in this patient and no one made themselves available but Ron Slaven. Our patient was surrounded with lots of equipment on the CT table when he came in like a quiet hero to save our day. Ron sat with our patient and talked to him and explained who he was and talked about what he was doing and showed him the utmost respect. Even though he had some profound communication barrier. It took a few tries, but Ron saved our day and possibly our patient by coming to help us.

I am profoundly grateful for Ron's time, expertise and compassion for my patient. He brushed aside my Thank You as he walked away. Thank you Ron!
