Robin was really friendly right to start with, she walked into my room and introduced herself and she was really warm and kind. Then the doctor said I had to walk around all the time because my colon wasn't doing its job, well this nurse would come get me and take me by the hand and walk with me. She acted like she could have been my wife, or sister, or best friend the way she walked with me hand in hand. And we had the best talks about just anything we could think of while we were walking. That made me feel so good because it's not fun in the hospital, you don't feel good, you're lonely, and the beds are uncomfortable but I had something to look forward to because I knew Robin would be coming back to walk with me and talk. When I told her manager she said that she walked with me too, but I didn't remember her because it was just a walk. But with Robin, it was how she made me feel- like her best friend. I could tell the other nurses looked up to her. She was some sort of leader nurse. If anyone needed help she was the head nurse to go to. That made me feel good too. I knew everything was going to be okay because my nurse was the smartest head nurse and she was taking care of me like her best friend. And come to find out, her husband works there too! But it's okay he didn't mind that she held my hand on our walks!
