Integrity: Robin seeks to establish common ground with team members. She remembers details that are important part of each person's story.
Commitment: Robin shows commitment to the VA Mission by obtaining additional training specific to geriatrics.
Advocacy: Robin advocates for well-being of veterans on levels of medical, psychological, and social. An example of advocacy for the social well-being of veterans occurs at one weekend night each month. While on duty, Robin gathers a group of veterans together and conducts them in a hand bell performance. She is able to coordinate her tasks so she is free during this special time. She brings her own hand bells and a special treat. This activity is very special to the participants and is only possible through Robin's generosity.
Respect: At every new encounter, after asking about veteran's service Robin says "Thank you for your service."
Excellence:During times of program transition, Robin offers feedback and suggestions to management.
Robin has convictions about the respect each veteran is due. She reminds the team she works with about the significance of each era that the veterans represent. She models the respect that she expects us to uphold in all interactions with the veterans.
