Robert has been on the Skin and Wound Resource Team since its inception in 2008. Robert came to the DOU with an interest in wound care and a love of patients, and patient care. Over the past 4 years I have been working closely with Robert and the DOU managers to perform weekly skin care rounds for pressure ulcer prevention. Robert has worked jointly with the DOU staff educating them on pressure ulcer prevention and identification through yearly skills days, during staff meetings, and one minute overviews. He has assisted me in my biannual Skin, Wound, Ostomy education days, education the staff RNs attending the class during our hands on clinicals.

Robert never says no to any request. No matter what I ask him to do or follow up on, he always says yes. He is a very dedicated and passionate nurse who you can count on to follow up and to always give 100%. Currently Robert is the UBCC chair for the DOU along with being a skin and wound resource team member. He works as a mid shift RN and staff RN. Robert always has a smile, and has very positive attitude. I can always rely on Robert knowing he will be there to help during our quarterly NDNQI pressure ulcer prevalence studies. He continues to provide nursing education and mentoring of pressure ulcer prevention to the DOU staff. I feel Robert exemplifies what a DAISY Nurse is; someone who continues his own personal education in nursing, and uses his training and clinical skills to assist other nurses to advance themselves and their care of patients. Robert provides care to his patients as well as his fellow nursing peers. I continually admire his dedication in serving his units.
