A1C Chavez is always a phenomenal technician. He is hardworking, reliable and compassionate with every patient he comes across. 3C had one particular patient, a 27-year-old male diagnosed will Guillan Barre syndrome, who suffered from acute chronic back spasms from a past car accident. These spasms were fast acting and painful, the patient would scream in agony while simultaneously having a panic attack. He was difficult to console and treat for pain. Often taking 30 minutes to 1 hour to calm down after one started, even with IV pain medications. A1C Chavez distinguished himself by constantly staying by his side during an attack, holding his hand, and talking calmly to the patient. How the patient did not break his hand, I have no idea. The patient was on our floor for 3 weeks and every shift A1C Chavez worked, he comforted the patient with each spasm. Even when he was not assigned to the patient. The patient would request A1C Chavez because of their connection. Not once during that time, did A1C Chavez complain or act inconvenienced. A1C Chavez handled the situation with perfect compassion!
