I had been admitted for an open lung biopsy; all went well or so we thought, until the evening of the surgery. Robbie was a very attentive nurse! He was concerned about my output from my drainage tube, and I noticed he was spending quite a bit of time with me. He never alerted me or gave me a thing to worry about the whole time! He made sure I was comfortable until it became obvious to him that I was in fact in trouble!
Robbie calmly left the room, this was around 3 AM or so. He called my surgeon and let him know what he had noticed and had kept a very close eye on. The surgeon was there at the hospital within probably 30 minutes! Robbie and my surgeon explained to me very calmly that I needed to go back to surgery due to a bleed somewhere in my lung. Robbie made sure I was ready to go asap! I feel as if it wasn't for him, the blood clot and the bleed would have cost me my life! He was comforting, caring and calm throughout the whole situation! I was never afraid while he was with me as my nurse.
