As a first time laborer who'd just spent the past 3 days in pre-labor with no sleep, I came into the birthing process a little hesitant, scared and tired. Not only did Rita act as my nurse, she acted as my friend and teammate. She went above and beyond by doing simple things without prompting, like cleaning me so I didn't feel so uncomfortable and coaching me through even minor parts of the laboring process. She cheered me on and encouraged me. She was constantly looking for and coming up with ideas to help my birthing process be more bearable.

For many reasons and in many ways, I felt more safe, comfortable and capable because I had Rita by my side. I felt I could trust her. She humbled herself to serve me during a really hard process in ways that I can't even express. How many women walk away from having a baby saying "that really wasn't that bad"? My husband and I agree that Rita made it that way for me. She was a blessing and I thank God for her many times over. Unfortunately, I think she'll be a hard act to follow with my next baby! We love you Rita! Thank you!
