Rhiannon Boatman took the extra time, effort, and compassion to really care for a boarded patient. She was kind and tolerant of his behavior as well as being a role model to other staff helping with keeping this patient safe. She was able to keep the patient busy with appropriate tasks and was excellent at redirecting this patient. Rhiannon initiated new care tactics appropriate for this patient as well as changes to his room for his safety and staff safety. She put aside the frustration of his difficult situation and took amazing care of this difficult and violent patient. She volunteered to care for this patient. Her training and experience along with her compassion really make a significant difference in this patient's day. We need more nurses like her!
