I had the pleasure of delivering my second son with Raven by my side. From the moment I was wheeled up to labor and delivery, until 10+ hours later when she delivered me to the post-partum unit, Raven took care of me. As a nurse myself, I know how busy one can be behind the door. I'm sure that she was busy, but I never felt like she didn't have all of the time in the world for me. She made me feel like there was nothing else she had to do, except be by my side. While I am not an OB nurse, and really have little knowledge of that department, she made a point to explain everything, while treating me with respect.
While I had many uncomfortable and potentially embarrassing moments during my time there, because of Raven, I never felt embarrassed or ashamed. Raven did everything in her power to ensure that they were following my wishes without me being miserable. She was my advocate. IV's were placed, foley's were placed, calls made to MD's about concerns she had and she even tolerated my husband's bad jokes! My mother caught a picture right as my son was being born and it happened to have Raven in it. Her smile and excitement for my family and me tells it all. She truly loves her job and I was very grateful to have her as my nurse.
