My son has been a patient at Chandler Regional Medical Center for most of the past month. He was diagnosed with ALL leukemia and has been receiving chemotherapy.

Every time Ramona came to his room, I was impressed with her compassion as well as her knowledge of all things related to his care. In addition to her other attributes, she has an incredible sense of humor. Every time she came into the room, she was a "breath of fresh air".

Recently my son started having issues due to a high fever and intense shaking. As soon as she walked in, she recognized he was in trouble and immediately started the process to alleviate his situation. I know for a fact that she contacted his oncology doctor at least 8 times that day, in addition to other personnel so that they could immediately resolve the crisis and make him more comfortable.

I hasten to add that, while all of this was happening, she never showed signs as to the seriousness of the situation; she was a consummate professional who did what she had to do in a timely manner, continuing to reassure us. I feel that the successful outcome was due to her actions; we are very grateful.

This was just one of many instances where I felt she went above and beyond in her attempt to give the best care possible. She is an excellent nurse as well as an amazing individual.
