Rae was phenomenal last night. Along with his physical health and wounds, they had shown amazing compassion to help with his depression and anxiety. The charge nurse approved me to come back after visiting hours because he was anxious. When I arrived I found Rae and told them he was having a panic attack. They came in and talked with him reassuring him and explaining how things are and what LTAC hospital. They agreed with me about me going home to sleep. They would call (not him) if I was needed.
When I came back today Rae had put a quote on the wall for him: "Self-control is strength. Calmness is mastery. You get to a point where your mood doesn't shift based on the insignificant actions of someone else. Don't allow others to control the direction of your life.
