You are an amazing director and great "foundation" on which PACU/OPS are built. You are strong clinically and in the role of director. You are a role model, mentor and develop PACU/OPS staff in both clinical and leadership roles. Your consistent leadership and direction are impressive. You are supportive of the staff yet hold them accountable for their actions. I see you as highly self-motivated and a "team player". You are respectful of those encountered. You are a great advocate for patients, family, and staff. It is evident that you are customer focused, regularly "going the extra mile" to offer outstanding service to all customers - internal and external. You serve as a great resource for other departments and your peers. You are a quick thinker and utilize sound judgment. The consistency and reliability you demonstrate are excellent, follow up/thru is outstanding, and attention to detail fantastic. You keep the house supervisor abreast of pertinent happenings in your departments. You routinely look at and act based on the "big picture" - how situations affect not only your units but other units, UH, UHS, etc. This "global perspective" is an extremely valuable characteristic of a manager. Similarly, when you "talk the talk" of supporting staff and the mission of UH, you "walk the walk" through actions like coming to work at the bedside when needs are significant. This trait is priceless to the staff, House Supervisors, as well as the University Health System. Thanks for your support and team spirit - it is noticed. You are an unsung hero of your trade, and an asset of a nearly immeasurable degree to the profession of nursing, UHS, the world of healthcare, and mankind. Never was the art of nursing and management more evident than in your demonstration of compassion, and true caring for staff, patients and their families. You are the embodiment of the spirit to which UHS aspires. We are blessed to have you on our team. It is a pleasure and a privilege to have you as a peer and call you my friend.
Thank you, Polly, for always remaining steadfast to the cause and exhibiting the epitome of professionalism and expertise always. You are an inspiration.
