My mother was admitted to A&E due to her suffering a seizure. After a number of hours and tests, she was allowed to leave the resuscitation ward and wait in the observation area for the blood test results. My mother is 85 years old and she was in the hospital for several hours. She was extremely tired and hungry and just wanted to go home as soon as possible.
Nicholas Adams attended my mother and it was wonderful the way he gave her his personal attention. He provided us all (my mother, my sister and I) with drinks and food for my mother. He gave us an update every 10 minutes on information or the blood test results.
I had a long talk with Nicholas about his career in nursing and could see the passion he has in his job. We remembered Nicholas from before when 2 years ago my father was in the hospital about to pass away at the end of his life at the age of 89 and Nicholas was present in the ward that time too. He was just as attentive to us as a family then, we remember his caring and compassionate attitude.

I am an army veteran of 20 years and I have recently retired from Northamptonshire Police, also after 20 years' service. My stay at NGH Clinical Observation Department was very short, only a matter of a few hours, but here is my point, it didn't matter if I was a patient for a day or weeks, Nurse Nick Adams treated me with such compassion and showed such care, he is certainly in the right job. Nick constantly checked on me providing that reassurance and his understanding was outstanding. Nick is a credit to the NHS and NGH, and I wish him all the very best and to continue to be the caring person he is. I thank him for his understanding and compassion. He is a credit to his profession.
