In my career, I have never met a nurse who embodies love for nursing and caregiving the way Nellie Lim does. She is an outstanding leader and role model, always setting high professional standards, strengthening teamwork among all staff, and unifying our hospital. She makes her coworkers and patients feel like family. Just recently, we had a patient on acute rehab with metastatic lung cancer, who was concerned about not having a warm, fitted winter coat when she goes home. Nellie went out of her way to purchase her a coat just prior to discharge. The patient was tearful with gratitude. This is certainly not the first time Nellie has prepared her patients for a safe transition home. For years, she has been taking care of her patients holistically—making sure they have the knowledge, skill, confidence, and tools to live a quality life within the community. Her gentle kindness, positivity, and acts of love transform our patient's worlds. I would like to thank Nellie for her dedication, commitment, and honor to the nursing profession and her patients. She is an inspiration to all.
