Honesty - Nancy has always been up front and honest. She doesn't tell you what you "want" to hear, but rather the truths that you "need" to hear. She does this with compassion.
Excellence - Nancy exemplifies excellence in patient care and professionalism. She doesn't cut corners and expects that her staff live up to and perform at the same level that she displays. This is evidenced by the 5-Star ratings in the unit for the first months.
Accountability - Nancy holds herself accountable for all of her decisions and actions. She doesn't "throw anyone under the bus" and assumes responsibility for the outcomes of any decisions or directions she gives.
Respect - Nancy has the highest respect from all of us on the Oncology unit. We have seen her work tirelessly to put the unit together, to find the right mix of people to make the unit successful, and to manage, not from her office, but shoulder to shoulder with us.
Teamwork - Nancy is the perfect example of teamwork. She doesn't hesitate to step up to the plate to help her staff whenever they need it. She provides guidance, she assumes patient care when needed, she'll run samples to the lab for us, whatever is needed to insure her staff can continue to perform and provide the highest level of patient care.
