Nomination #1

Nancy is an extraordinary nurse and should be recognized for all of her efforts and expertise. She goes above and beyond in everything she does. She has the trust and respect of all of the patients and families as well as all of her colleagues. We are truly blessed to have her as part of our team.

Nomination #2

Nancy is a dedicated nurse who always has patients' best interested at heart. She is always available to discuss any issues regarding patient care and truly cares about the well being of patients and fellow employees.

Nomination #3

Nancy Czolba epitomizes what a nurse should be.

Patient Care: When Nancy provides care to a patient she treats the whole patient, the physical, spiritual and psychological needs of the patient not just the illness or the disease. She is incredibly sensitive to the needs of a patient. She welcomes input from the patient's family and educates them as appropriate.

Team Work: She always works closely with the attending and the entire treatment team, sharing information as appropriate and asking questions to understand and improve her own knowledge. She does not limit her contact to her assigned patients but is always quick and happy to help others.

Above and Beyond: When our unit director resigned it was Nancy that has stepped up and filled in the gap. Despite not having the "proper academic credentials" to apply for the job, Nancy has not only held the unit together but the unit has steadily improved under her competent hand and care. Therapists, doctors not just the nursing staff seek out her help and guidance. She is respected and liked by all. She is truly the heart and soul of the 7E unit.

Nomination #4

Nancy goes above and beyond in anything that she does, whether it is for direct patient care, communicating with family members, working with the ancillary departments, etc. She makes her patients feel that they are the only person that she has to care for that day. She takes the time to answer questions and if she does not know the answer, she always finds out and comes back with the answer. She is the go to person for all kinds of clinical questions regarding the SCI population, and she does this not only for the nurses but for the therapists as well. She is an excellent educator and never makes you feel stupid for asking a question.
