If you ever want to see a real image and picture of Florence Nightingale, Munza is the one who bears and possesses the qualities of Florence Nightingale which she has mentioned in her nursing theory. Munza is the one who tries her best to fulfill the basic necessity of patient.
There was one cancer patient and was trying her best to provide the best, holistic and quality care to patient. She was paying respect to the patient wishes, religion, culture and his family. Her communication skill is very good. She listens to the patient and understands their pain and agony. As according to Florence Nightingale, water, food, air, hygiene, and sunlight are the basic needs of humans. The patient was so depressed by staying in ICU with horrible environment and was crying. She wanted to see her youngest daughter who was just 3 years and cannot come to ICU. She advocates for her, she took her outside ICU, in the sunlight where the patient meets her daughter and was smiling together. This caring attitude brings the satisfaction of family and happiness in patient face.
She respects the culture in such a way as there was old aged man who came to meet the patient and was shaking, standing with a cane, she immediately offer a chair and asked him to sit. The attendant blessed her with prayers. She maintains a professional attitude all the time with patients, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team members. She is competent and has a sound rationale for all the clinical practices and is approachable.
She is a member of unit based council and takes care of all the co-workers physically, psychologically, and socially. She helps the team members and takes care of their basic needs. Sometimes she cooks food for them. She is very down to earth. She guides the new comers, precept them and mentored them. She is a trustworthy nurse and she keeps all the things confidential. She fights for the patient's needs and necessities, as well supports her colleagues.
I think she is the one who meets all criteria based on KFSH&RC values, as she is patient focus, has integrity, and delivers quality care, compassionate and a team player.
I wish her all the best for future endeavors and it is right to say/ call her a DAISY nurse because she is:
