When I came to Labor and Delivery for an induction, to say I was a little nervous and scared is an understatement. Not only was my baby being induced but I was giving my baby up for adoption to my sister and brother-in-law. When Morgan came in with her smiling face and calm and caring demeanor, I knew I was going to be in very good hands. As I explained my situation, she was extremely positive and supportive. She answered all of my questions and she helped us make all the special arrangements we needed in our situation. She was patient with all of the family and friends I always had in the room for support. As the afternoon turned into a long night, another nurse came in for the night shift. Morgan was back with me the next morning and just as supportive as the day before. She was there to keep encouraging me when I wanted to give up. My beautiful baby was finally born at 3:06 that afternoon after a very long labor and extensive pushing. She was with me the entire time and always made me feel cared for and like I was her only patient. She helped us navigate all the little decisions that needed to be made involving me, my sister and my baby. She supported our decisions and multiple times showed her compassion through her affirmative words and actions. When it was time to move to the mother/baby unit, it was good to be moving on, but it was sad to say goodbye to such a loving and compassionate nurse as Morgan. My family and I will always remember her as a very positive and encouraging part of our story.
