I met Morgan when my boyfriend was unexpectedly transferred to CSU which was not what I expected when I came into the CSU and his room. I was not prepared for what greeted me. K was hooked up to all kinds of machines and had his eyes closed. As I stood by the bed, I saw a petite young lady who looked like she knew what she was doing. She came into the room and introduced herself and asked who I was. She then spent a good 20 minutes explaining every wire, needle, IV bag, monitors and the tube down his throat - all while tending to K's needs with tenderness, carefulness. She was skillful in her field.
There was one incident that comes to mind and that was a day or two after K had been admitted into the CSU. K was agitated and thrashing around in his bed and I couldn't get him to relax. Morgan came into the room and in her stern but gentle voice, she got K to relax and go to sleep. Morgan is kind, caring, compassionate, skillful, knowledgeable, great under fire, and above all, a gentle spirit.
There are many individuals who have cared for K since he was admitted. I know they all cared for K to the best of their abilities, but Morgan will stand out in my memory of our time at Borgess with her kind and compassionate way of making patients and family comfortable by knowing they are in the best of hands. She not only reassured me, but she also gave me the confidence to go home and tend our fur-babies knowing that K was in good hands when Morgan was there.
I will forever be grateful for Morgan for making me feel part of K's care, making sure I was all right and for taking such great care of my beloved all during a very difficult time in our lives. God sure knew what he was doing when he sent Morgan into our lives.
