I would like to share my story, even though it happened 3 years ago. I was diagnosed with cancer, which was devasting news to take. And there are questions, so many questions I wanted to ask, but also, I wanted to hear positive answers. That day when we found out about my cancer I was lost, didn't know what to do, what to ask. That day my nurse who was taking care of me was not only doing her job but also took the time to stay and talk to me, giving me encouraging words, to think positive, not to be scared but to take one day at a time and I did. She not only gave me encouragement but made me look at it from a different perspective. She encouraged me to fight back. This wonderful nurse, Monica, took time out of her busy day to motivate me to go out there and fight. So, every day that I didn't want to do my treatments I would remember that nurse who gave me so much courage. I cannot thank her enough for being there while I was so lost myself. I am now cancer-free!!
