We welcomed our baby boy, C, at your facility, and from the very beginning of our stay at St. Elizabeth, we were treated like family. The care, attention, and compassion that the nurses showed us was unforgettable. I had a C-section and never had surgery before so my recovery was hard for me especially at night time. Monica was our night nurse for 3 nights in a row and from the first time we met her, we felt a connection to her. One night I was in a lot of pain to the point of tears. I couldn't get comfortable and began to feel really sick. Monica was always there when I needed her and had several ideas to try in order to make me feel better. I asked her not to leave me and she stayed with me until I was able to fall asleep. She helped massage my back, get different medicine, move me around, decide on a plan to call the doctor and helped me stay calm. She was an angel to me that night. She also helped my husband and me with tips for caring for our newborn. She showed different ways to hold him, guided us as we figured out feedings and showed C love too. When Monica was ending her last shift with us, I hugged her tight and couldn't express to her how important she was to us, especially me in our recovery. We want to make sure Monica feels appreciated and THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
