Molly has gone above and beyond her duties to make sure I have the very best care. She put up with me when I was at my very worst; truly I was so mean to her and to my PCA. She made sure the Nurse Practitioner and my doctors were well informed about my condition and all my meds. Mercy is so blessed to have her on your nursing staff; I feel like Molly deserves a medal.

My sister G was having a very difficult time breathing. As the night progressed she continued to have trouble and she then she began to get puffy, starting at her feet. The night nurse ordered three breathing treatments but G just kept getting worse. She could not catch her breath. When the shift changed, Molly came into G's room and saw she was in distress. She immediately said she was going to get help and left the room. Within minutes the charge nurse and doctor and then an array of people were in the room helping my sister. She was literally drowning in her own fluids. If I understand correctly, the albumin she was receiving was having an adverse effect.
Molly was so kind and caring, and she had great compassion. Because she saw the problem and acted right away, she kept my sister from having to go back on CPAP or a ventilator. Her voice was calming, and you could just tell that she truly cared. Molly kept a very close eye on G and helped her to feel at ease after what was a very scary night. Her bedside manner was far beyond what a nurse is usually required to do.
Even though Molly had on a mask and gown every time she was in the room, I could tell she was smiling each time. She is such a good nurse. With all the hustling of people in and out of G's room that day, Molly just made her feel at ease. She always paid attention to what we said, even when we were close to freaking out by the time she came on duty. She kept us informed of everything the doctor said and ordered; she gave us details so we understood.
G and I both feel like she saved G's life that morning. She is really awesome. It is a wonderful thing when nurses take just that extra minute to listen to the patient and family without making us feel like she has to hurry along. Molly looked us in the eye, took charge, and that made all the difference for G.
Mercy should be extremely proud to have so many great nurses, but then to also have Molly is icing on the cake! She deserves positive recognition for being a nurse with so much love and compassion for her patients. She is a breath of fresh air, and we are so thankful. Thank you, Molly.
