"Harris", as he likes to be called by his patients and co-workers, consistently displays professionalism in his everyday work. He utilizes evidence based practice and works with his co-workers to investigate the current literature regarding their patient's diagnoses and treatment plans. Harris was a preceptor for the Nurse Externs for the past two summers and enjoys teaching both staff and patients. He has volunteered to be the clinical coach for the New Grad that is starting on 2 South.

Harris has been recognized by his patients consistently. In fact the call back team knows him well. One of the comments was that a patient stated "I had a male nurse. He was very good. He explained everything to me and gave me lots of information". The patient did not remember his name but the person doing the call back stated "I believe he is speaking about Mohammad Hashim, I always get comments like this about him". He was also recognized by another patient who stated that "My nurse, Harris, really explained everything to me about my diabetes. He told me about my meals and how I should eat. He even wrote out some things that I need to look over. He was really good". I was also told by a patient that Harris took the time to sit and draw pictures to help her understand her diagnosis and why she needed to take her medications. She stated that people explained her meds before on previous admissions but it wasn't until Harris worked with her did she understand the importance and how not taking the medications would impact her life. Harris truly is committed to patient education and his caring personality truly comes through to his patients.

Harris just completed his BSN at Governors State University and is enrolled in the MSN program. He is on the rising star committee and has presented our projects to the Exec team. Harris is truly an asset to his patients, co-workers, 2 South and Trinity Hospital.
