My mother was admitted into the hospital after major back surgery. She is very hard of hearing and has a track record of not understanding or being very responsive during her hospital stays, and can be difficult to get to cooperate. I have personally talked with and watched many nurses over the years take care of my mom. Misty is hands down the most compassionate, patient, knowledgeable and genuine nurse I have come across. She takes her time to speak to my mom in a clear, firm, but kind manner. I appreciate that more than words can say. Misty takes the time and makes the effort to make sure my mom understands what she is saying and what she needs her to do. Often times my mom doesn't like it as there is generally pain involved, but Misty has this way with her that I really can't explain. The other nurses I have had contact with are very kind, so don't get me wrong, but do not take the time to speak in a clear and concise manner as Misty does.
I appreciate that at no time did I ever feel like I was a burden, or an annoyance when I would speak with her or ask questions about my mom's care. Misty is so genuine, easy to speak with, you can tell she enjoys her job and is there to truly help her patients.
I could never be a nurse. Not everyone is built for such phenomenal job; the care of others. I couldn't imagine how a nurse must feel going home at the end of the day; carrying the weight of other people's well-being on their shoulders is a tremendous thing, but Misty does it very well.
Misty is what's 'right' about Eskenazi.
