Michelle Johnson

Michelle participated in the care of a patient with autism. The patient was low-functioning, unpredictable, and aggressive. Michelle displayed exceptional care when dealing both with the patient (who was primarily non-verbal) and his family. She was caring, informative, and cognizant of the family's needs. Despite the patient’s aggressive behavior, Michelle remained focused on his care, often observing and helping with him even when she was not assigned to the case. Additionally, as his care was difficult, and there were questions regarding the effectiveness of his medication regime, Michelle took it upon herself to speak with the hospital pharmacist to discuss "outside the box" treatment options. These conversations and ideas significantly helped with the care of the patient. Overall, Michelle demonstrated extraordinary care, motivation, and dedication. Her care contributed greatly to a difficult case.
