Michelle was invested in providing me, my husband, and L with so much love and support through the crazy month that we were there.
Our worlds were turned upside down when I delivered our son, L, prematurely at 32 weeks, and we would soon learn after that he was very sick. He was transferred to the NICU at Advent Orlando. When Michelle walked into our room for the first time, I knew she was someone special. She was invested in providing me, my husband, and L with so much love and support through the crazy month that we were there. I will never forget when she came into our room and said she was set on making sure that I could hold L for the first time that day. L was not very stable that day but she worked her magic and I got to hold him for 30 minutes. That was the most special moment in my whole life, and I will forever be grateful for that. That was the first and only time I got to hold him before the day that we had to withdraw life support. We made such a connection with Michelle and I know L loved her so much (we called her his girlfriend). She signed up to be his primary nurse and I was so happy every time I saw her walk into his room at 7 am. When we had to do something that no parent should have to do, we signed the papers to withdraw life support on our sweet boy, and it was such a hard day, but God blessed us with Michelle as our nurse that day. She spent the whole day with us, comforting us and crying with us. Michelle is such an amazing person and an excellent nurse.
