Michelle was my husband's first nurse when he was admitted here in August of 2010. He was subsequently diagnosed with colon cancer and has endured many procedures. Michelle has been by our side every step of the way even though he was not admitted to 2 East since his initial admission. She followed up with us when he was on 1 South, 3 West, and the Heart Center.

Last year, he had another procedure, and went into a-fib. He was transferred to SICU. As soon as I let her know, she came to his side after her shift ended. As it happened, the doctors had just decided to cardio-vert him. Michelle stayed outside the room while I was moved away from him. We both had peace, because we knew that Michelle was with him. She was a stabilizing force for our family. Later, when he was admitted to the Heart Center, Michelle checked on him again. She has prayed with us on numerous occasions and I will always remember her kindness.

Michelle and her family even came to our home in Bath one weekend to check on "her buddy". I'm certainly not clinical, but I know that she is a big part of why he is still with us today. Her caring spirit, her knowledge, and her compassion make her one in a million.
