Michelle has such a kind and caring heart and embodies the CIRCLES of Parkland. She exhibits compassion in all of her interactions with patients, the attached letter is an example of just that. Patients often commend her for her care and all comment on how she makes them feel like the most important person on the unit. She is also an excellent charge nurse and a go-to for staff on the unit. She keeps a calm, cool and level head in emergency situations and helps the staff to maintain that as well. She uses her skills to help others in so many surprising ways. She was integral to our Pathways journey on our unit spending countless hours with her Cricut helping to design and create our outstanding train! Also, during the Pathways journey, she helped the ACNP group create a truly amazing and educational video about the different Wellness opportunities here at Parkland. A little known fact is that she is also quite an accomplished baker and often brings home-baked treats to celebrations her on the floor including cakes that can easily compete with any cake from a professional bakery! We are so grateful to have her as a member of our team and to be the beneficiaries of her unique skills, but most importantly we are so glad that she is here to take such excellent care of our patients.

I would like to inform you of my experience with Michelle. She was simply amazing!! I have several mental health issues and had a lot of trouble that night. Usually, I suffer alone, hiding away and trying to deal with my mind so as not to bother the nurses whom I know are busy but Michelle wouldn't allow that. She said that her job is to take care of not only our physical bodies but our minds as well. She stood in my room with me while I paced back and forth, manic and crying and Michelle just talked to me. She kept telling me that I wasn't alone, that she was right there with me. She just listened and talked to me all night long. Eventually, I calmed down and she got a call from another patient, she made me promise I would hang on until she got back then she actually came back! She stayed with me until I was calmer and okay to be alone for the night. I would call and she would be there in a second. Michelle helped me more than I can explain in this letter, her compassion, honesty kept me from doing something I would regret. I am truly grateful for Michelle!! Please know that Michelle is one of a kind and embodies the true spirit of what a nurse was meant to be. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you, Michelle, for being my nurse, loving me and caring for me. Michelle is a great woman and I needed her that night and she was there for me!! Bless you, Michelle.
