Nomination Letter – 1
My mother was a patient admitted to BMH. As a result, she was placed on the third floor (after ICU). My sisters and I were concerned that we had not met with her doctor, nurse, or otherwise. We needed to advise these professionals of our mother’s condition. This changed when we met Michele Muggridge. She was not only professional, but responsive and insightful. Michele was very resourceful. She told us what to expect. Michele was not offended when we questioned her about some concerns we had over our mother’s prognosis. She helps us carry our baggage when our mother switched units. She gave us the name of the doctors and relayed information to them, per our request. We were very lucky to have her.

Nomination Letter – 2
Michele has my vote for the Daisy of the month. Not only does she care for the physical needs of her patients, she works on keeping their spirits up and those of the family members as well. She enters a room and it’s as though a heavy curtain is lifted and the sunshine comes in! I’ve never met anyone who cares more for others. She met my mom’s every need with a smile on her face. She explained, in detail, different procedures to make them less scary. She brought our family comfort food (she’s an awesome cook) and sweet stories of her hometown in Louisiana. Her kind and gentle ways make Baptist Memphis a hospital that I would recommend to anyone that I care about. When I think back on this stressful time, I will remember Michele’s professionalism and her compassion for not only her patients, but for everyone she meets. She has my vote and a place in my heart forever!

Nomination Letter – 3
I nominate Michele for the Daisy award, because of her kindness and warmth. She is a terrific nurse with an extraordinary way with people. Recently my eighty year old mother was at Baptist Memphis for major surgery. We had the good fortune of having Michele as her nurse. She made our comfort a top priority and spent her personal time sitting with my mother, calming her anxiety. Michele is a very special person that I will always remember. She is an asset to Baptist Memphis.
