Michaela stopped by and we all three ended up crying knowing that with this tragic accident we were all brought together in life for just a few moments to realize the beauty of being there for one another in their time of need.
I wanted to inform you that one of your nurses Michaela Astall went above and beyond in saving my husband from a critical car crash. My husband was taking a left turn to get to the Katsota garages. As the left arrow turned green T proceeded into the intersection but was met with a car being chased by undercover cops going close to 100 mph, which totaled my husband's car and left his body in severe shape. This is where our real-life angel, Michaela, jumped into action rendered aid to a large bleeding gash to my husband's scalp. She stayed with him applied pressure to the head wound and kept waking him keeping him alert by asking him questions until more help arrived. I know in my heart if she had not rendered aid as quickly as she did that my husband's outcome would have been much worse or fatal.
When they took T to the ER Trauma bay she followed along to check up on him which melted my heart. When I found out she was with him I was immediately relieved that he had such a kind, considerate soul to be there with him because at the time I couldn't be because I was not even informed of the crash yet.
In ICU, Michaela stopped by and we all three ended up crying knowing that with this tragic accident we were all brought together in life for just a few moments to realize the beauty of being there for one another in their time of need. T and I have 8 children and they all consider her their big sister now who saved their dad's life. I do realize that her helping my husband might just be marked as her just doing her job, but to our family on a spiritual level, she was his calm and voice of comfort in one of his most tragic times of anything to ever happen to him. As he needed to prep for surgery she wrote him giving him encouraging words and let him know how great his doctors were, so he could be at ease for his procedure. She will always be a part of our family because she brought one of the most precious people back to us.
