Mike was always so caring and compassionate during these calls. He seemed to know when to make a joke to lighten the mood.
One of the hardest parts, as a family, was not being able to just hold his hand and comfort him in his last days. The nurses set up a FaceTime every night around 6:30 pm and we would talk until the iPad would die or until we had to hang up for the night. Mike was always so caring and compassionate during these calls. He seemed to know when to make a joke to lighten the mood. He would always make these darks times a little less painful. Mike, we feel went above and beyond the expectations of caring for our loved one. On P's last night here with us, my husband and his mother were able to go in and be with P to say goodbye and after all of the hard sleepless nights he fought a good fight but COVID was too powerful. The care he received was amazing and at the end of that last night, Mike held a note against the glass that said how truly sorry he was and that he would pray for us. Mike is a true angel on earth and a hero in our eyes. We will never forget him and the tremendous care he gave us all.
